Good Turnout for IC4’s October ‘Last Thursday’ Seminar sponsored by Edelman
The Hibernian Club on St. Stephens Green was the venue for IC4’s October ‘Last Thursday’ Breakfast Seminar. It was the first time for the seminar to be hosted at this beautiful venue, which is steeped in history and which can trace its origins to Daniel O’Connell.
The topic for this month’s seminar “Social Media and Big Data: how can it inform business strategy?” was a juxtaposition of the old and the new but none of the business leaders, who attended to learn how their companies could leverage the latest developments in digital marketing, looked out of place.
Theo Lynn, the guest speaker for the seminar, gave an excellent presentation on the potential that social media and big data analytics offers in informing business leaders on the correct strategy for their businesses. Theo, a senior lecturer at Dublin City University and a Principal Investigator at the Irish Centre for Cloud Computing and Commerce (IC4), is also a thought leader in the use of digital marketing to increase business agility, efficiency and growth.
November’s ‘Last Thursday’ Seminar will be on the topic of “How Big Data, the Cloud and Viewer-Aware Displays are disrupting the DOOH advertising market”. The seminar will be presented by Barry Guiney and Donnacha O’Callaghan (4Impacts and Munster Rugby). The Last Thursday Breakfast Seminar is sponsored by Edelman, Dublin, a subsidiary of the world’s largest independent PR agency and the originator of the Edelman Trust Barometer that measures attitudes about the state of trust in business, government, NGOs, and the media in Ireland.
