“IC4, in conjunction with the Marine Institute and CeADAR, the applied data analytics centre, would like to invite you to a workshop to explore how we can help companies in the marine sector to leverage the benefits of cloud computing and data analytics.
McKinsey & Co has estimated that in 2025 the industrial internet will be creating up to $6.2 trillion per year of value. The value will be created from capturing data from an estimated 50 billion devices and transforming this data into actionable information that can be used to increase efficiency, reliability and automation for asset owners. This value creating opportunity applies as much to marine assets as to any other class of asset as marine assets are relatively higher in value and in distance from the service provider than land-based assets.
The main ingredients, in addition to the ‘data’, for realising these savings are people with deep domain knowledge of the assets and a platform for aggregating, analysing and transforming the data into actionable information. In other words; people from the marine, cloud and data analytics sectors!
This workshop seeks to bring these three protagonists together to explore how best to collaborate to leverage the benefits of sector knowledge, cloud computing and data analytics to create value. The workshop will be structured to provide participants with an opportunity to:
i) understand how IC4 and CeADAR engages with industry and to see examples of the work we have done
ii) hear case studies from industry participants showing how they have leveraged the power of cloud computing and data analytics
iii) network and discuss with fellow participants the areas where IC4 / CeADAR could help create value for companies in the marine industry
iv) contribute to the prioritisation of the ideas that have been generated and presented.
